On Thursday, a high-level meeting was held under the leadership of Divisional Commissioner of Jammu, Sanjeev Verma, and various departments were instructed to speed up the preparations for the Amarnath Yatra. The Tourism Department, Health Department, and Jammu Municipal Corporation have been asked to make preparations for the Amarnath Yatra at the earliest.
Instructions for sanitizing the base camp of the Yatra
Due to the corona virus epidemic, the Yatri Niwas Bhawan, the base camp of the Amarnath Yatra in Jammu, was converted into a Quarantine Center, which will now be prepared for travelers. The administration has instructed to completely sanitize the Yatri Niwas Bhavan and make the traveler’s stay.
Jammu City Deputy Mayor Purnia Sharma said that Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) has been asked to sanitize and clean the Yatri Niwas Bhawan. Our employees will be on duty for 24 hours till the end of the Amarnath travelers.
Amarnath travelers will be corona examined in Jammu
The government has also decided to conduct a corona investigation of travelers arriving in Jammu. During this period, only those passengers whose corona report will be negative will be allowed to travel further. The health department has been instructed to make necessary arrangements to collect samples of travelers. However, the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board, which conducted the Amarnath Yatra, has not confirmed it yet.
