Union Home Ministry Transactions of Rajiv Gandhi Foundation will be investigated , The Bharatiya Janata Party had recently questioned the transactions of the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation. Now a few days later the investigation has been started by the Union Home Ministry on this matter.

A committee has been formed by the Ministry of Home Affairs, which will investigate the funding of these foundations, violations committed by them. This committee will be headed by Simanchal Das, Special Director (Enforcement Directorate).

On Wednesday, information was given by a spokesperson of the Union Home Ministry amit shah. The tweet said, ‘The Union Home Ministry amit shah has constituted an inter-ministerial committee, which will investigate the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation, Gandhi Charitable Trust and Indira Gandhi Memorial Trust.

Investigation of several factories, responsibility to three agencies

In this investigation, violation of the rules of PMLA Act, Income Tax Act, FCRA Act will be investigated. The committee will be headed by the Special Director of ED.

If sources are to be believed, three different agencies will investigate the funding related to the trust. In these, the CBI team will investigate the case under the FCRA Act, besides the ED team will investigate the PMLA violations and the Income Tax Department related tax.

What is the whole controversy?

In fact, in the midst of the ongoing dispute between India and China, when the Congress Party launched an attack on the Central Government, the Bharatiya Janata Party overturned the Congress.

It was alleged on behalf of Bharatiya Janata Party President JP Nadda that the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation used to get funding from China.

Apart from this, the UPA government had also given money to the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation from the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund for the country. BJP had alleged that till 2005-08 Gandhi Foundation had received this amount from PMNRF.

However, in response, the Congress denied all these allegations and said that the Gandhi Foundation is the foundation of the country and its work is done for service.

The Congress had said that the Gandhi Foundation received a nominal amount of Rs 20 lakh from PMNRF in the year 2005-06, which was used for relief work in Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
